Saturday, September 24, 2005 - Hello all.

Hello all - sorry it has been a few days but we have been experiencing internet difficulties and haven’t been able to access the web from home. This was a difficult week. Rob had some minor health issues but everything is under control now. Braden, Kyle, Erin, Diane and Jonathan are all visiting today. We had lunch together in the courtyard (takeout from Friday’s). Rob enjoyed a steak with Jack Daniel’s sauce and mashed potatoes. He continues to gain strength and is becoming more independent each day. Still no fingers and no movement in his legs or feet but it is still early days yet. Mandy’s mom should be here tomorrow and I will be heading home to LI for a few weeks. Please keep those messages coming. Rob can get to a computer with internet access and he checks his care page every day. As he begins his second month of rehab he needs all your strength and good thoughts and prayers behind him.

Thought you might like to know.....
To my delight, when I arrived at Kessler I discovered that Rob had opened up all his mail by himself. Part of his technique was ‘steaming’ the envelopes with his breath-what a creative husband I have! He said it took him 2 hours but he did an excellent job of separating the cards from the envelopes with minimal damage to the cards. It was a very nice surprise. We are quite close to covering most of his wall with ‘get well’ cards and it looks AWESOME. Thank you all for sending them and to Erica for putting them on the wall! I must say that between the cards, drawings, plants, tree, stuffed animals, halloween decorations and fish(yes, Laura and Eric were kind enough to replace the one that passed away-and p.s we did have a funeral in the bathroom for him), etc- Rob has the best room in Kessler. Anyways, I know that was a run on sentence but heck...who cares. smile
