Monday, September 25, 2006 - Attending Project Walk 4x/week

Hey Everyone,
Sorry it’s been awhile since our last update...there really hasn’t been too much to report. Rob is attending Project Walk 4 times a week for 2 hour sessions but is going to increase to 3 hours sessions as soon as the schedule allows. He is enjoying the workouts, last Friday he started treadmill training with a walker (three trainers assist him with walking, one on each leg and one on his waist to hold him up). On Friday he was able to walk for 5 minutes and today he did 10 minutes. So that’s about it. Hope everyone is well.

Thursday, September 14, 2006 - Found An Apartment

Good news....we found a place to live and signed the lease today.
Bad news....there are no Wachovia’s on the West Coast so moving in is delayed while we await a wire transfer (there’s always something askew with us). It was a very stressful apartment hunt but we are pretty sure this place will work out-the shower area is a little tight and Rob’s wheelchair won’t allow him to get under the bathroom sink but at least he can fit through the bathroom doorsmile We are definitely in need of this apartment because Rob hasn’t showered since we left NJ (yikes...don’t call Adult Protection on us). Rob began his regular routine at Project Walk this week. Unfortunately, he’s been pretty dizzy and nauseous as a result of the UTI (the 7 days of antibiotics he was on did not effectively treat this strand of bacteria so he had to start another 7 day course this Monday). Feeling sick has made working out very difficult for Rob, one day he had to leave his session early and the next day he slept for 21 hours straight. Poor guy!!! Hopefully, once he is finished with this round of meds he will have more energy and be able to give 110% again. As for the rest of the family, Trinity has recovered from his UTI and he and Jade are warming up to Heather and John in Maryland. Marley is doing well-though has been very protective of us. We are staying in a townhouse and she is not used to hearing people and has been barking quite a bit. I (Mandy) have been having a lot of difficulty with back pain but I am planning on joining Rob for some acupuncture sessions which hopefully will clear it up. So if all goes well with the bank tomorrow we’ll be moving this weekend and can finally settle in to our new life in California-wish us luck!!!
