Hi Everyone,
Just wanted to let you know we arrived in California late Thursday evening. It took about 5 days to get across the country (not including the drive from NJ-VA to pick up my brother Braden). Rob had a hard time with the drive, he was in a lot of pain and had a ton of spasms during the ride. It turns out he had a UTI which was probably contributing to his pain(also turns out Trinity-our cat also had a UTI which required an emergency vet stop on the way from NJ-VA). Our temporary housing is nice, though the carpet is making it difficult for Rob to get around and there is a curb we need to maneuver over and a small step into the apartment. We have to be out by the end of October and we spent today searching for places in Carlsbad. It was disappointing to discover that many of the buildings are not handicapped accessible. I will continue the search tomorrow. In the meantime, both Rob and I are a bit uneasy about our living arrangements because of the accessibility issues and because we are living out of our suitcases. It’s pretty difficult being out of our element, especially given our circumstances. Hopefully, we will settle into a place soon and will be able to get into a routine. Rob starts tomorrow with his regular routine at Project Walk which includes 4-two hour sessions a week). I expect he will be exhausted. I guess that’s about it...off to bed

all in jammed into a Ford Escape w/a Thule roof rack. God help us as we drive through Hurricane Ernest (i think that’s the name...haven’t watched the news in about a year so i’m not sure). We depart for Calfornia tomorrow after Rob has one last therapy session in the morning. We are busy packing now (thank you Courtney for helping us make it happen...we would never have made our deadline w/o you). Just wanted to let you know our address for the next 6 months
