Monday, November 13, 2006 - Daily Record Article II

Here is link to an article that was written about Rob in today’s paper “The Daily Record”. If the link does not work...go to http://www.dailyrecord.com and click on local. Rob’s story is about halfway down the page.

We of coarse are excited about Rob being featured in the paper but we do wish the article was less about how controversial the program is and more about how AMAZING it has been for Rob (thereby attracting more east coasters to the program). In any event, I just wanted to thank Arlen, Clint, O’Ryan, Jasmine and friends, Barbara, Pat and Eileen for attending the Steps to Recovery event and cheering Rob on. It was a FANTASTIC DAY!!!!! We’ll let everyone know as soon as the Proj. Walk video is posted. Enjoy the Daily Record article.

Sunday, November 12, 2006 - Steps to Recovery a Success

Greetings from San Diego - Mandy and Rob have invited me to do the update this week to give you a Mom’s eye view of how things are going. Let me tell you it is nothing short of amazing. Rob’s progress is phenomenal. His performance in the Steps for Recovery was inspiring! He is moving both legs, the right leg is totally independent and the left requires some assistance to initiate the step out but can finish independently. He still has a long way to go - Ted who is the owner and founder of Project Walk has cautioned Rob that this is the most dangerous time for him. As he continues to improve he will be pushing harder and harder and must be careful not to injure himself by moving too quickly. He still has major balance and upper body weakness issues. But he is eating well and is off almost all medications, including pain meds. I also had the opportunity to view the new Project Walk video which is all about Rob and Mandy’s story and narrated by them. I have had a wonderful week in CA. Not much time for sightseeing but we had some great meals and good times with those who were able to make the trip here. Check out the photo gallery for a few shots of the race and their celebration afterwards. There are many more pictures as well as a video of the Walk that Rob hopes to get up on his web site in the near future. Thanks to all of you who continue to support Rob and Mandy. ~Mom Wall
