Friday, January 26, 2007 - Sweating in Cali

Working up a sweat! We are proud to announce that Rob was able to sweat this week for the first time since his injury. Guess I’ll have to buy him some deodorant now huh? Rob definitely had a nice ending to his week. Yesterday, he was able to walk with an ankle weight on the right foot on the treadmill which was set at an incline. He walked 1/10th of a mile in about 25 minutes. Yeah Robbie! This weekend we’ll be busy putting the final touches on Robs new website which we hope to debut next week. We are also thinking that Run for Robbie 2007 will probably be held in October in DC/Virginia. Details to follow.

Wednesday, January 24, 2007 - Hanging in There

Just wanted to let you know that Rob and I are doing okay. It turns out the trip to NJ took a lot out of Rob physically. He has had some blood pressure issues again and he has as felt weak and fatigued overall since his return. This past Monday Rob also fell off the treadmill at Project Walk. He is okay though...thankfully, I happened ‘break his fall’. I understand it was quite a sight with him falling backward directly onto my bent over body (I was adjusting his foot when the treadmill suddenly moved). At least there were no serious injuries...we’ve heard of many other clients who were unable to participate in the program for weeks after hurting themselves. Anyways...no word on the house, job or new apartment yet. Finding an accessible home that is furnished, dog friendly and allows a short term lease is a tall order. In any event, we wanted to get some feedback on where to hold Run for Robbie 2007 since we no longer reside in Lake Mohawk. We were thinking Virginia might be a convenient location for many of you. What do you think? We are also trying to decide on a date....mid summer or fall? Let us know if you have any suggestionssmile I assume we’ll keep it to between an 8-10 mile run again this year. Thanks!
