Sorry we missed yesterday - with only one short therapy session in the morning the day really dragged. Today was a different story. I had the morning shift while Mandy was able to go enjoy a massage courtesy of Arlen and Clint. Rob put in a full day of therapy, successfully balancing himself in a seated position and once again enjoying some pudding. One of the interns following his case accompanied him to OT in the afternoon to observe his progress which they consider quite accelerated! Rob then went to an educational program on living with spinal cord injury. Walt and all the guys came to Kessler for the company meeting. I understand they enjoyed a lovely meal of Ensure. Elizabeth stepped up to the plate once again, bringing me some much needed things from Hampton Bays. She also brought special cookies for Rob (peanut butter) and Mandy (chocolate chip )from Tate’s bakery in Southampton. She heads back to Richmond tomorrow morning. Hello all - Mom Wall here - Rob had a quiet day today. He was in his wheelchair all day today, from about 10:15 this morning until 4:45pm. He tooled around the facility, visited the gift shop and called Mandy on the phone three times. (The poor girl got home from Maryland at about 5:00am and was trying to catch up on things, not the least of which was sleep). When Mandy did arrive for a visit, he perpetrated a fraud of monumental proportions-he moved his legs! Really, he moved them with his hands but she didn’t know that until moments later. No formal therapy today but Rob works out while sitting in the chair so as not to waste a single moment. He was able to move his right thumb today-purposely this time We watched some of the US Open and he enjoyed a lunch of homemade lasagna and fruit salad. Liz left for LI and Tom & Eileen arrived tonight, too late to see Rob today but they will stop in tomorrow. Tomorrow begins our second full week at Kessler. Who knows what he will be able to do this time next week. We have added a few photos to the gallery- we know you all have been waiting patiently for this-Enjoy!
